October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month
Throughout the month, women and men are encouraged to wear pink ribbons to remind us of the importance of breast cancer awareness. Black women are more likely to die from breast cancer than women of any other racial or ethnic group.
Education, evaluation, early detection and treatment are critical. For yourself, families and friends—annual mammograms, monthly breast self-exams, and sharing family history can help in the fight against breast cancer and save lives.
